Nokia 2.4 Review – How Good is £99 Budget Nokia?
4, a 99 pound budget phone that offers a pure android user experience. A large 6.5 inch display and a battery that lasts a long time. Let’S take a look. Design of the phone is simple, yet effective, the device is made out of plastic and, while it doesn’t scream luxury, the build quality is pretty good. I love a textured backplate, which is both nice to the touch and it does not attract fingerprints like glossy surfaces. Speaking of fingerprints, the reader may not be the fastest out there, but it is reliable when unlocking the phone. We have a dual camera system, with a 13 megapixels main and 2 megapixels depth sensors. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel shooter, a 720p plus display. May not be the sharpest out there, but is good enough for everyday use, especially considering the price of the phone. Other key features of the device include a dedicated google assistant, key, a headphone jack average sounding loudspeaker and a micro usb port for charging. I personally prefer usbc, but most of the budget oriented users are okay with the micro usb port. When it comes to hardware, the phone is powered by mediatek yielia p22 cpu. My unit has 2 gigabytes of ram and 32 gigabytes of storage, but there is also a higher end model available day to day. Performance is pretty good, yet not perfect. Occasional studder reminds you. This is a budget device. After all, despite that, the overall performance has been decent, as there is no major lag, the phone does what it’s supposed to do it handles everyday tasks like web browsing, social media and similar stuff without any issues.
What is a bit disappointing is that the phone still runs on android 10.. Well, it’s not a big deal, but this is an android one device, meaning that it should get the latest software updates. First, nokia 2.4 was not designed for hardcore gamers, but the performance is surprisingly good. In some of the games, for instance, asphalt extreme runs quite well. There are some sudden and lagging games like call of duty, but this title is still playable. However, if you want to play, pubg, get ready to see major lag and stutter even on low graphic settings. Daylight image quality is very good. Considering the price of the phone, the pictures come out. Nice sharp and detailed in low light, the camera’s night mode produces okay. Looking images, the quality is not the best, but this is what you have to expect at this price point. Portuguese look! Okay, even though you may see some artifacts in some of the shots same can be said about selfie portraits low light. Selfie quality does not really impress video quality using both main and selfie. Cameras is decent but it’s quite shaky. Due to the lack of any sort of image stabilization, a 4500 milliamp hours battery has been performing great. I would say this is a 2 day battery life phone, but that obviously depends on how i use the device. If you use the phone mainly for youtube and social media and keep screen brightness at about 50, you should expect to get about 14 hours of sot cut this time in half.
If you want to use the phone for more intensive stuff at a higher display, brightness setting, unfortunately, the phone does not support fast charging, meaning that it will take about 3 and a half hours to fully charge it. In conclusion, nokia 2.4 is a cheap phone, that’s good enough for basic everyday use. You can enjoy watching content on a large screen. The battery lasts a long time and pure android experience means that user interface is not loaded with bloatware. Also, the design of the phone is simple, yet effective and cameras can take decent photos in daylight. As with all of the budget phones, there are some compromises: nokia, 2.4 ships with the outdated micro, usb port, its battery charging time is very slow and you should expect to see occasional stutter in the user interface, which is yet to be updated to android 11. overall Nokia 2.4 is a decent phone for the price, but it obviously has some shortcomings to consider before buying it.
