I didn’t like each one didn’t want to put the effort into a full review for each one. This is kind of a shorter review of them. In case you were interested but be warned. Everything here is not positive, but that’s just the way. Some of these games work so i’m going to go from order of the one i like the best to the one i like the least. So here we go. First, we have panic island. So panic island is a little it’s. A cooperative memory match with a timer. Now, probably for most of you that automatically makes you not interested, i am amongst that group, but i gave it a whirl and there’s just two it’s, just too messy it’s a little messy cooperative memory game. I just don’t know what the the point of that is. Then we have no bluff. Now you may have seen us play this. One live actually, but i think we play it live during a marathon. This one has a really cool premise: like i’m, offering you some money and you can offer me some back and then i roll a die and for some reason, the rolling a die honestly just ruins the whole game. It’S just this whole pushing your luck aspect. Against luck like there’s bluffing, but then there’s luck, it’s, just a bad mashup it’s a cool idea, badly implemented monster farm. I really wanted to like monster farm it’s, a small publisher, they’re, trying some neat things where you’re collecting resources to get monsters but honestly it’s.
Well, first of all, the rules aren’t that fantastic and it is a collect stuff, turn that in to get monsters – and it just doesn’t, come together in a in a cohesive way, and there are lots of games out there, where you collect resources and turn them in And there’s a little auctioning and stuff and it’s the game just feels undeveloped uh it feels like it could have been good, but as it is not a huge fan, otote a tote artist. This is another one that we played live here you can see and in this one you’re simply making some sort of thing with your hands and people are guessing what it is so it’s like any party game instead of panamaning or humming or singing you’re, doing something With your hands that’s interesting for about 10 seconds, i felt like this one here, it’s a funny idea, but didn’t need to be published. Another independent one, frontier enchanted land. This one has very badly written rules like incredibly badly written rules, but it is a drafting game but what’s. I don’t like about this one. Besides the bad rules, i just want to clarify that um, the the game is a drafting game where you draft two full rounds of cards, and then you sit there and try to score them all and there’s games that do that. There are good conceptual games where you score a bunch of cards like that. This one is not one of those in this one.
You could just have a bunch of cards say these don’t work together, this doesn’t mesh. It just feels it feels like you’re trying to you’re trying to draft stuff and do things i just was not impressed with this one at all. Then we have sugar heist now. This one has really cute artwork about babies, eating sugar and there’s. Also, a little expansion here called diaper bomb it’s, just a take that game play good cards on yourself, bad cards and other people there’s a lot of those you’re stashing and stealing cards from babies and collecting groups, it’s it’s a cute looking game, but uh it’s, a Rotten piece of candy adventure games, discover the story, volcanic island and you might say, wait a minute. You like these games, you’re right. I like the um, the uh. There was two of them before the the dungeon i really enjoyed as generic as that one was a fantastic fun entertaining story, the second one not as good, but still pretty good. This one is way worse than the other ones. The story is starts out. Interestingly enough and then just falls to pieces, it’s really badly written as in it feels like it was translated directly from german to english. Without anyone fixing it, the formatting of the text – and i thought okay i’ll skip all that and use the app and the reading on the app is not very good there’s. Some really weird leaps of logic.
This is this one’s just bad. I really dislike this game, but not as much as i disliked the last game here. The sherlock files volume two, although you could throw in volume three or volume, one it doesn’t matter, it’s all the same to me, um. I dislike this style of deduction game. Probably more than any other style i’ve ever played. First of all, i don’t get the shaw combs thing here: there’s something about a recently deceased, don and jewel thieves in a laboratory fire that’s, not sherlock holmes, they’re, just sticking his name on it to get money. I suppose, but in this game you have a deck of cards and you hand those deck of cards out slow to people and you’re guessing which evidence is useful and which is not if you could spread the whole deck out and look at it all. You could figure out the case, but you only get the deck a little bit at a time, so you are guessing at the beginning and you lose points for each piece of incorrect evidence that you say is worth noticing. Although the beginning game, you don’t know, since you shuffle the deck and hand things out randomly, they come up in a random order. The cases are boring. The whole thing. Oh i hate it. I hate it um. So there you go the shock files, but then obviously people like it since volume three just came out, but this is one that is not for me at all.
So there you go folks, some small games, not a big fan of but hey. Maybe you would like them, i doubt it, but you never know so.
