Today, i’m super excited to share with you a comparison, video between both of my favorite devices, that is the redmi k40, as well as the xiaomi mi 11.. All right so i’ve been using both devices for a couple of uh. Quite some time now actually, and if you’ve seen my previous video, i actually did a very thorough review on the me 11, but i would say that uh, the redmi k40 that i have on my left here is actually one of my favorite devices as well, so Which device should you buy? Should you get the redmi k40, or should you go for the xiaomi mi 11? What are the differences all right, so in today’s video i’m going to be sharing with you? A lay man’s term kind of a comparison, video right here, we’re gon na go into actual use, uh how it actually feels like to use these devices on a daily basis. So that will be how my comparison, video will be going about all right. So before i start up this video, i just want you to know that the redmi k40 right here is actually retailing for about 1 650 ringgit, so that is approximately 410 us dollars and on my right, the me 11 here is about 670 us dollars. So in terms of uh pricing, of course it will be different, based on where you’re from uh definitely region specific right there. But if we just talk about the pricing right here, i would say that the me 11 is actually about one and a half times more expensive than the redmi k40.
So in this sense, should you actually go for the redmi k40, which one is actually more worth? It uh, let me tell you all about it all right, so we’re going to start off this, this comparison off with a quick look at the designs. If you take a look at the redmi k40 right here, everything is very shiny. It does look a lot like the xiaomi mi 10 tee from last year yep, so it does look very shiny. It still feels very premium in hand. Everything is built very nicely and if you take a look at the camera cutout, it actually looks very similar to the one on the me11, although it is just a little bit smaller, so the me11, on the other hand, here, goes with a different approach. Everything is on this mat each kind of back materials, and i absolutely love the matte materials because it’s, just not as fingerprinty as the redmi k40 over here in terms of slimness as well. The mi 11 is actually slimmer than the redmi k40. So if you definitely appreciate the kind of like thin devices, the mi 11 here is definitely going to make you happy. The redmi k40 is definitely slimmer than the xiaomi mi 20 from last year, but it still feels a bit chunky right there. So just bear in mind about that. So in terms of design, i guess it’s really subjective, which you actually prefer um to me. Personally, i like the the back material of this mi 11 because of that matte materials so i’m.
Definitely in on the mi 11 right there, but in terms of build quality they’re, both built, really solid, so you’re not missing out on any in terms of build quality right there, all right so flipping the device to the front. This is where we see the main star of the show right here, so both devices here are actually using uh amoled displays they both come with high refresh rates at 120 hertz. They both support hdr10. But one thing to note here is the resolution difference, so the redmi k40 here comes in at 1080p, whereas the mi 11. This comes with a 1440p display now, in terms of actual daily use. You won’t really be able to tell the difference in terms of colors and contrast levels, but i must point out that, in terms of actual like sharpness levels, you will definitely feel the difference with the me 11 right here so because it is a 1440p display. Everything appears super sharp on this mi 11 right here, even though both are actually great in terms of the refresh rate. Both are very smooth, as you can see here, and definitely i’ve been using. This, like i said for quite some time now, but if there is going to be one winner, it has definitely got to be the display on the mi 11 because it is just awesome guys. So this is the top notch kind of display that you can get on any xiaomi device today.
This is the best one right here, but i must say that for this redmi k40, the items that it comes with the specs of this display is nothing to be ashamed about and it’s also equally good, just that it is not as sharp as the one on The me 11., all right next point, we’re going to talk about here is performance. Now the redmi k40 here is running on the snapdragon 870, whereas the mi 11 is running on the snapdragon 888. So both of my devices tested comes in with 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of internal memory. Now i just want to point out that, in terms of gaming, i’ve definitely gained quite a bit on both devices right here, i’ve always played my favorite mobile legends. Uh pub g as well as genshin impact, and i must say that gaming on both devices here are actually very, very powerful. They do not come with any lags or delays or whatnot, but i must point out that, in terms of the utmost best graphics, definitely you will see it in the mi 11 right here. The main difference here that i want to point out is between the temperature levels that both devices get so by now. If you have been watching a lot of videos on youtube, you would know that the me 11, or just simply the snapdragon 888, tends to heat up quite a bit. So it definitely gets much more hotter on this uh mi 11 right here compared to the very cool snapdragon 870 on the redmi k40 right here, so in terms of comfort levels and actually heating up and all that the redmi k40 definitely wins.
This comparison right here, because it just comes in at such a nice temperature and everything is still very good right here – all right, so in terms of how it actually performs, i did run both devices here with 3dmark. This test right here is actually very helpful in telling you a clearer story about the performance of both devices right here and the one that i want to point out today is the one live stress test, benchmark that i did on both devices right here. So what this stress test does is: it will run a very, very intensive graphic game, uh over 20 loops, so this test here. The idea of this test is to show the frame rate, how it drops across the entire 20 loop, how the temperatures are holding up, whether how much battery actually drops during this process and all that, so this wildlife stress test here is very useful. For those of you guys who actually tend to play like very graphic intensive games and how the performance will hold up over long periods of gaming time all right. So if you take a look right here, um note that the best loop score on the redmi k40 is four point. It’S four thousand one hundred as and the lowest score is actually also four thousand one hundred. But if you notice on the mi 11 right here, obviously the scores are going to be higher. We have 5.6 k as its best loop and the lowest loop is 5.
1 k all right. So what does this tell you in terms of stability? Note that the redmi k40 actually achieved a 99.6 stability rate on this device right here, which is actually pretty crazy, because that means that the consistency of the processor and the graphics everything is so consistent at 99.6 percent. However, on the uh on the xiaomi mi, 11 we’re only getting a stability of 91 percent. That means that the game would normally start off, get getting the best performance, but over time the performance will start dropping uh due to temperatures being too high all right. So if you just scroll down a little bit more here, you can see more information. So in terms of battery the amount that dropped on the redmi k40 here is just um, eight percent – for this entire test, whereas for the uh xiaomi mi 11, it dropped 14. So there’s a lot of battery loss going on with the mi 11 right here. If you take a look at the temperatures as well, it shows 34 degrees celsius to 43 degrees celsius, so that is an increase of about nine celsius for the redmi koi 40. For this test right here, whereas on the xiaomi mi 11, it is a huge jump of about 17 celsius, so massive massive jump in terms of temperatures on the mi 11 right here so again, like i said by now, you should be familiar with the heating issues Or i would just say the heating experience on the snapdragon 888.
It really pushes the graphics high but you’re getting very hot uh temperatures right here. To sum this up long story, short um. The me 11 here will definitely be getting very high temperatures if you’re playing graphic intensive games and note that battery life actually drops more as well on the mi 11, whereas on the k40, i would say that this is actually my preferred kind of experience. That is, i do get a very good gaming experience, but the temperatures do not go that high and the stability and performance of your game is actually maintained throughout your entire gaming session. Alright, so i think that’s pretty much it. What i want to cover in terms of performance, for both devices right here, obviously on day to day, use your social apps like facebook, instagram youtube and all that will run perfectly fine both devices. Does it very well there’s, no difference at all in terms of the actual performance but it’s just in terms of gaming, that you will get a more cooler and more stable experience on the redmi k40? All right, i hope you learned something there. If you do have questions, let me know down in the comment section below alright, so now we’re going to flip the devices to the back and talk a little bit about the cameras. So, on the redmi k40 we do have a 48 megapixel main an 8 megapixel ultra wide and a 5 megapixel macro. They do not come with dev sensors on both devices.
So on the mi 11 you do get a higher resolution. 108 megapixel main sensor, a 13 megapixel ultra wide, as well as a 5 megapixel macro alright. So these are just numbers guys, but in terms of actual performance i did notice uh one thing so i’m going to show you a couple of photos for you, the judge which you actually prefer, but to just sum it all up in terms of camera difference. I would say that the saturation levels on the mi 11 is a little bit more saturated, whereas the redmi k40 actually produce more accurate kind of colors, not too saturated but more true to life that’s. The first thing i want to note here. The second thing that i want to point out here is that sharpness levels on the xiaomi mi 11 is definitely much higher than the redmi k40. So that’s pretty obvious because it does come in with a higher megapixel count. 108 compared to 48 megapixels, so of course you do get sharper images on this mi 11 right here, all right, so that’s in terms of image quality other than that they’re, both really good at taking shots both in the day and at night, but yeah. Those are just the two key takeouts that i want to point out for both devices right here all right. Moving on to my second last point: uh let’s talk a little bit about the batteries in these guys, so the batteries here is actually a quite a similar story.
We have 4 520 milliamps on the redmi k40 uh, whereas on the mi 11 we do have 4 600 mah, so it’s just a little bit more they’re, more or less the same, and i would say that in terms of actual day to day use the battery. Actually held up a bit more better on the k40. Simply because if you do not play that much games, the k40 can actually hold up for a pretty long time, definitely more than one day or or 1.5 days max on a full single charge. Whereas the mi 11 here tends to use a battery a little bit more, especially if you are gaming, uh those graphic intensive gains. So that is something that you need to know right there all right. Last but not least, let’s talk about the uh speakers on both devices right here, so they both come with a very loud stereo speakers. They both sound great. I also want to point out the haptics on both devices right here, they’re actually pretty similar, so they do come with a bit of vibrations here and there throughout the user interface when you’re using it. So they both feel very intuitive. In terms of that. So very happy with the haptic engines on both devices right here all right guys, we’ve now reached the end of the video, so question is: which should you buy? Should you go with the k40 or should you go with the me 11.
? Well, my answer is actually pretty straightforward right here i mean there is only one way to look at it, so considering that the me 11 is one and a half times more expensive than the redmi k40 right here, i would say that the better all rounder in Terms of my personal opinion is that the k40 here definitely gives you the best value for your money, and why is that? The reason is being the snapdragon. 870 is a very, very potent uh processor right there. You also get very stable, consistent kind of performance in terms of gaming. Temperatures are always kept at a minimum. I never felt like it was really hot at any point of time when using the redmi k40, and that is something that i really appreciated. Apart from that, the camera difference is just a bit more subtle. You don’t get that much. You don’t lose much in terms of camera performance, so yeah, the true value to performance, uh, king or winner right here would be the redmi k40. But if you must have that uh super awesome display and you prefer a slimmer form factor like this and you don’t mind the heat yeah. Well, i guess, then you can also top up a bit more money and get the meat 11 right here. But to me in this side by side comparison, i would actually prefer the redmi k40 right here all right. I think that’s, probably the end of my video.
I know it’s been running a little bit too long, but yeah. If you still have any questions, let me know what you think down in the comment section below.
