I am, of course, talking about the realme 8 pro Music. Before i get started with this review, if you are watching this video on youtube and you are enjoying the content – don’t forget to hit that like button and subscribe to the editor channel for all the latest tech news and gadget reviews, alright, so let’s dive in head. First to the design of the realme 8 pro, and in my opinion it has a great color and finish on the back. It features an ag crystal process coating on the back, which makes it a unique texture. In the hand, this dark color finish is called infinite. Black now, despite how nice it feels in the hand, it does tend to get quite slippery once your hands are sweaty but that’s easily remedied by using the included phone case. The deadly branding is done better on this phone than on the x7 pro, at least in my opinion, it’s still pretty out there, but it’s more subtle, a little bit more muted. The camera bump sticks out quite a bit and it rocks on the table at times but again, it’s easily fixed by using the cover. The phone is very slim and lightweight and it feels like it belongs in a different segment altogether Music. So the display here is a 6.5 inch super amoled fhd plus screen uh it’s, a standard 60 hertz refresh rate no 90 hertz or 120 hertz. But in my opinion, that’s not a deal breaker, mostly because i feel i’d rather have a smooth display at 60 hertz.
Rather than a high refresh rate display that stutters, because the chipset can barely handle everything that’s going on, there is up to 1000 nits of brightness in direct sunlight. So no problems in that area. Colors are nice and watching. Content on this phone is very enjoyable. There’S. Also 180 hertz start sampling rate, which helps while gaming and offers better touch responsiveness, Music. Now the camera here on the realme 8 pro is rather special it’s a 108 megapixel primary sensor, which is a big boy sensor. That realme has gotten from samsung it’s the samsung hm2 iso cell sensor. So you know, it’s really got the performance jobs that you need. It offers very sharp and detailed pictures in good lighting and using the 108 megapixel mode certainly helps preserve, detail even more and lets you crop into pictures a fair bit now. This sensor is accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide, a 2 megapixel black and white lens for portrait shots and a 2 megapixel macro lens. The ultra wide shots are nice, but there is a bit of distortion towards the edges of the frame and colors too sometimes come out a bit different compared to the main sensor. Portrait pictures are quite nice. Edge, detection works well and background. Goku is pleasing. The macro sensor, however, is not the best in the business it’s just better to use the main high resolution sensor and zoom in that provides some great shots. Low light photography now is surprisingly great, even in very dark situations.
Grain and noise is mostly removed and colors and details are preserved. The pro nightscape mode also gives quick and easy access to additional functions in case you want to capture things like light trails, there’s also a starry night mode that can be used to capture shots of the night sky with long exposure times, but with delhi’s air pollution. You will have to wait for a really clear day: videos can be shot at up to 4k, 30 fps or 1080p at 60fps. Colors are nice enough in videos and even low light videos. Look pretty good, although some grain is noticeable now the front camera here is a 16 megapixel sensor. It offers sharp pictures and good lighting and for low light shots. The fill light function works brilliantly, portrait images are also nice and edge. Detection is performed well. It is worth noting that you can take up to 1080p at 30fps videos with the front camera Music, all right so now, let’s get into the thing that most people really care about, which is chipset performance. So the real me 8 pro packs in a snapdragon 720 g chipset, which is a rather interesting choice. Uh. I would have actually expected real me to go down the mediatek route at this price point, but they have gone with the snapdragon 720 g. The chipset is good, though day to day tasks and multitasking are a breeze in higher workload. Situations like call of duty mobile. There is the occasional frame drop or stutter, but for the most part, performance from this chipset is good.
There’S handy performance modes that can be accessed from the game space draw to optimize your experience even further there’s 8gb of lpddr4x ram here on this variant, so it runs everything pretty smoothly. I didn’t face any heating issues at all, regardless of what activity i was doing. Also worth mentioning is the 128 gb of ufs 2.1 storage on this model. However, this phone does not get 5g. That has been reserved for the real me narso 30 pro uh, which gets the dimension 800u chipset and 5g capability. Along with that now i will say: yes, that is something that really could have included, but again we are a long ways away from getting 5g rollout in this country, so it’s, not all that much of a deal breaker, at least in my opinion, Music. Now software is one area where realme has really done well with the 8 pro it gets. Android 11 right out of the box. Finally, it’s good to see that from real me, android 11, of course brings features like nearby share and a whole host of other useful things. The interface also looks fresh thanks to realme ui 2.0 there’s loads of customization options too, and realme claims improved efficiency over the previous generation. Pre installed, apps are present, but none of the bloatware is distasteful when it comes to utility. This phone has everything you could require from a phone in 2021 there’s, a 3.5 millimeter audio jack there’s, a usb type c charging port and there’s an in display fingerprint scanner.
The card expansion slot is full size, but it only takes up to a 250 6gb micro sd card. The in display scanner is fast enough, but at times it does take a second or two to respond, but it’s all right, Music. The battery on the real me 8 pro is a 4 500 mah unit which isn’t the largest we’ve seen at this price point, but it still manages to last quite long. In fact, the screen on time i got even with heavy usage, was upwards of 10 hours, which is very impressive from this device. Moreover, there’s 50 watt dart charging here, so it charges the phone from zero to full in just around an hour which is super Music fast. This, then, is a phone that has very few drawbacks. In fact, if i had to nitpick the only things i could possibly point out are the lack of a high refresh rate display, and maybe real me could have chosen for a higher end, more beefier chipset, but for most people those things may not be a deal.
