Pro. Of course, oneplus announced both of these devices yesterday and, of course, snuck in the oneplus watch, which we all have been waiting. Now the oneplus watch is a little bit delayed, but today we got our hands on with both the oneplus 9 and the oneplus 9 pro. This is tk and this is xdatp. So here we have it both the oneplus 9 pro and the oneplus 9. Now oneplus did provide me a couple of cases for them. We have the carbon fiber and the sandstone in black color that we have available and, of course, they have other options available on their website um, and i did actually just post a video this morning again featuring the speed test between charging on wired and wireless on Both of these, since we now have wireless charging on both of these devices, i’m, pretty sure you guys want to see exactly what they look like now. Each one of them comes with three different color options. Now the oneplus 9 pro there’s going to be basically the morning mist the stellar black and the pure green, and this is obviously the morning missed one now on the oneplus 9, we have the morning mist arctic sky as well as the astral black. This is the one that we have here. Both of them will have a capability of going between 8 to 12 gigs of ram lp tdr5, as well as the 128 gigs of internal storage, all the way up to 256 gigs of internal storage of ufs 3.
1. So the fastest charging’s possible, well the fastest storage that you’re able to use when it comes down to charging. Both of them are going to be including a 65 watt charging brick in the box. So this is the one that we get directly from oneplus. It is a usbc, they do provide the stack cable. The other thing i want to mention to you guys is that, even though it charges both of these devices at 65 watts, which is again the fastest possible that we can get, it also provides a 45 watt power delivery. So, if you’re, using this with any other devices that use 45 or up to 45 watt of power delivery charging, this brick is going to work for both of them as well. The other thing that oneplus released at the same time is the oneplus charger. This is the brand new version of this that is actually supporting a disconnected cable, as opposed to the one we saw last year. It can charge up to 50 watts, which is supported on the oneplus 9 pro and, of course, 15 watt, which is supported on the oneplus 9.. So definitely very nice. The design changed ever so slightly. We have an opening here for vent, as well as that. The fans are actually not pointed downwards. It does use the same charger that comes on the box. It does not include one on its own and, as i mentioned, if you guys are interested to see exactly what are the charging speeds between the oneplus 9 and the oneplus 9 pro make sure to hit that video that i linked for you guys in the description Below, but as far as the actual optics that we have on the back here, we have a triple camera setup on the oneplus 9 and in quad camera setup on the oneplus 9.
Pro the difference between the two are that the main sensors, although called out as 48 megapixels on the oneplus 9 pro we have the imx 789 and on the oneplus 9. We have the imx689 a difference in performance, both 48 megapixels, both capable of giving us 12 bit raw images in the pro mode, which we’ll get a chance to check out the secondary shooter here is the identical the same one on both of them and it’s, going To be a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens, which is the ims 766 and that’s going to give us some really good, uh, wide angle shots with not too much distortion on the edges uh. Lastly, we have a couple of cameras – a telephoto lens here at eight megapixel, on the pro and, of course here we have two megapixel depth sensor or mono sensors on both of them that are provided so essentially a quad and a triple camera setup. Now, although we have a different display size here, 6.7 on the pro to a 6.5 on the standard, nine both of them are supporting a 4500mah battery again wires supported with wired and wireless charging. As far as the actual technology that we have here, we have the qhd 120 hertz refresh rate here on the oneplus 9 pro, and here we have 1080p 120 frames per second or 120 hertz refresh rate on the oneplus 9.. Both of them are supporting the new always on display with oxygen os, as you saw right there.
If i double tap here, it does that nice little effect and, of course the fingerprint sensor is right there and one of the other things they also have is the still those shortcuts that we’ve come to love to use with oneplus devices oxygen os 11 with android 11 are going to be basically running on both of these right out of the box and, of course, the front facing cameras are the same it’s. A 16 megapixel sensor that we’ve seen before from oneplus capable of providing us 1080p 60 frames per second video recording and, of course, all the way up to 8k on the back sensors. Keeping in mind that we can do 4k. 60. 4K. 120. On the oneplus 9. Pro and 4k 60, as well as 1080p60 on the oneplus 9. So a lot of capabilities have been given us here and again, the same configuration snapdragon, 888 and, of course, uh the same 5g connectivity for both of them, so literally it’s. A very similar experience. The one thing also to mention about the displays is that the oneplus 9 has a flat display so it’s a 6.5 inch flat display 1080p resolution at 120, where the oneplus 9 pro is a 6.7 inch. Basically, an ltpo uh display that has the ability of going all the way from one hertz all the way to 120 hertz, with a variable refresh rate, so that’s something to keep in mind. But it also has those curves on both the front and on the back.
The oneplus 9 only has that, on the back, the front again is a flat display now jumping into the camera we’re going to start talking about the fact that you’ll notice that the shutter button is a little bit different. We also have a mode here called the hasselblad pro mode, which enables us to actually use our cameras in a professional camera. Experience. Hasselblad has had a basically an influence into oneplus design, as well as the color science that they’re, using with the oneplus 9 and the nine pro and we’ll notice that right away when we start looking at images as i’m, showing you guys right now. The big difference between them is obviously the over saturation that’s, something that we’ve been used to seeing from oneplus has definitely been tuned. A little bit lower we’re able to actually shoot in more natural, real skin tones are able to pop very nicely and the images look. Absolutely fantastic, especially from the back sensors, keep in mind again. The main shooters are a little bit different between the two of them, and the big difference that we have here now is the ability of actually turning on focus, peaking that’s, something that gives us the ability of actually seeing where our focus levels and you’ll see that Little the reddish tone color that you’re, seeing there the ability of shooting in raw 12 bit as well as 10 bit and be able to obviously exporting and editing them controlling the iso.
The white balance the shutter speed, as well as the auto, focusing all of those things. Are there portrait mode in standard and wider angle, as well as photo mode with standard, wide angle and all the way up to 3.3 here on the telephoto uh video capabilities as well wide angle, lens standard focal length, the ability of going to basically 1080p 30 and 60, 4k, 3060 and 120 only capable on the oneplus, 9 pro and, of course, 8k at 30 frames per second on the back sensor. The front facing sensor maximum will be 1080p 60 frames per second. The main difference for the oneplus 9 is that we don’t have the ability of going all the way up to 120 frames per second, when it comes down to uh. Basically slowing down the video 4k at 120 is gon na, definitely be very, very nice. Now, i’m. Pretty sure you guys want to see exactly how the front facing video looks like on this uh. One thing to mention is that there is actually ever so nice little light that it lights up right next, to where the camera sensor is i’ve. Given us a couple of things, first, we’ll know that a the camera is being used and b tells us exactly where to look so that we look like we’re actually looking at the video, as opposed to just looking at ourselves, so that’s. Definitely very nice uh. This should be a pretty good example.
Now we do have more microphones on the oneplus 9 pro three to be exact, as opposed to the two microphones that we have on the oneplus 9, so that’s, something to keep in mind there’s a little bit difference as well. On the hardware, and not just on the camera, sensors let’s go ahead and switch over on the back sensor uh. By the way, this was the front facing on the oneplus 9 pro keeping in mind that they’re exactly both on both these devices as they’re. Using the same sensor and the same maximum resolution, now, switching it over to the back facing sensor, we’re, shooting at 4k 60 frames per second we’re able to go all the way up to 4k, 120 and that’s going to help us be able to actually do some Of those slow mo images whenever we’re shooting at such a high resolution, 8k 30 frames per second – is also capable here, which actually works very nicely. Although i feel like for 4k it’s going to be more, i would say universally accepted, as you’re able to actually downgrade from that, and the 8k is definitely usable, although i recommend using it on a tripod to get some of the best images there. So all the customizations are here as well as the canvas that was that nice option that i shared with you guys at the beginning and that’s the ability of using the always on display, or are they calling ambient display and actually have that nice little outline now? It works obviously a lot better with portrait imagery, as it does a much better outlining of it, but i was able to actually get it to run on goku here, and this one actually looks really really nice so for any goku, any dragon ball fans.
This is definitely going to work very nicely for you guys now when it comes down to gaming it’s, pretty simple: all you have to do basically is open up the my games and any application that is considered to be a game will automatically be populated. If you don’t see it you’re able to add it and, of course, you’re able to change the view you’re also able to access the screen recordings, if you have any of them, so i’ve already done a gaming, video or review on my channel. If you guys like to check that out, i posted it yesterday and you can actually see some of the demos in there. So we have modern combat verses. I use the kishi controller with it, which works absolutely fantastic. We have fortnite, we have call of duty mobile and of course we have pubg mobile thumper. Any of the other games, of course, should be perfectly fine. Cooling on this is definitely very nice, and one of the main benefits, of course, is that we actually have a better actual thermal management built into the system here. So right there i’m launching pubg mobile. I give it a second to finish. Loading – and one of the things i will mention is that if you swipe down from the top right so right there on the top right edge, you’ll notice that there’s a new menu here so there’s the temperature, as well as the actual percentage of the battery.
The time of day, if you have whatsapp installed, instagram or telegram it’ll automatically populate to be able to share things now. It does say fanatic mode here, but it is going to be changing very soon. As you can see right there. It actually say pro gaming and, i think, that’s, just probably a pre release version of the software thing that’s coming up as far as the actual maximum setting here, if you guys are interested to find out, i was able to actually do ultra ultra with colorful options. Here directly for the gameplay uhd says coming soon, didn’t actually automatically turn that on, but the actual menu here is very nice, very easy to customize, you’re, also able to turn on screen, recording and, of course, rewind recording. If you want to be able to catch that there very easy and of course it works with any controller and of course, just gives you a great gaming experience like i said if you’d like to check out that video i’ll try to give that you i’ll give You guys a link in that in the description below now. Of course, the biggest thing about the oneplus line of devices this year is that they’re, obviously working with hasselblad now hasselblad brought in their color science or their color tuning to both the 9 and the 9. Pro and we see that in the images they’re not overly saturated they’re, a little bit more subdued as far as the actual images and skin tones actually come out very nice, and for that i really appreciate that um.
I do think still that if you want to kind of consider one over the other it’s going to come down to, basically certain features uh. If you want a qhd resolution – and you want a curved display, as well as obviously the best tech when it comes down to their display, the 9 pro is going to give it give you that it also has that variable refresh rate from 1. All the way to 120. now the oneplus 9 actually receives the most amount of upgrades. If you consider what we’ve seen with the base entry model level that we’ve seen from oneplus in the past, so the eight and the nine uh definitely have a big jump there. We have wireless charging at 15 watts. We have the faster wire charging at 65 watts. We have the flat display back again, so we have a lot of people that support that and love that we also have 120 hertz for a refresh rate as opposed to 90, which is what we’ve seen in the past. So there’s a lot of things going on. In there and they’re, using the same fast, internal rams and storage for both the one, the nine and the nine pro again, i feel like the the the line between the two is very very close. So let me know what you guys think on both of them. If one of them actually appeals to you a little bit more and of course, lastly, the oneplus watch was announced yesterday.
At the same time, it is gon na be selling for about 159, but it is not available yet it’s going to be released in the middle of april as soon as i’m. Able to get my hands on one of those i’ll definitely do a hands on video.
