So i just want to share with you my impressions of this brand new rugged phone from doogee. Now, when i use this phone guys, i’ve reviewed a number of these 6.1 inch type display, doogee phones, the closest one that this reminds me to is the s68 pro, and that phone was a really nice device was one of the earliest rugged phones. I reviewed, and i think this one kind of continues in the tradition of that device. You got that stock like interface now, this notch i’m, not a huge fan of this notch, but at the very least it’s making the borders on this display a little bit smaller and i got the red variant unit. You can see. It’S got this nice kind of red strip around the sides and you still have the capacitive fingerprint scanner on the side. Power button volume rockers and you know, doogie – is kind of slowly refining the design of their phones as well. You see this kind of new ridged. Look and making them a little bit flatter a little bit less thick and dude. I do think you should kind of start moving in that direction, similar to what eulephone is doing and making your devices a little bit less thick to make them a bit more appealing. But here you see the specs of this phone with the s86 six gigs of ram 128 gigs of storage, ip68 dust, proof shock proof, and of course here you see the variant that i got s86 and this is the flame red version.
So this is not the pro version of the phone. I think there will be a pro device in the future. Now, in terms of display, like i said, we have a 6.1 inch display on this phone it’s getting a little bit small by today’s standards, but it still is a bright lcd display. I would love to see, though, rugged phone makers start, including high refresh rate displays in their phones, so doogee. Let me tell you this would be nice to see maybe on the next series of your rugged phones. Maybe a 90 hertz display panel would be nice to see and talking about performance we have the helio p60 onboard kind of standard fare for these phones and it’s. A decent, lower, mid range chipset, it’s gon na do the job i think for casual use, but don’t expect to kind of play crazy, gangshin impact and other things with this device. It’S gon na stutter quite a bit for those things, but if you’re just using this phone, almost like a backup phone or as your camping phone for example, then it should do the job. But the start of this doogee s86 has got to be the battery. So we have an 8 500 milliampere battery capacity on this phone, and that means this device has literally lasted me three to four days of use. No problem – and you do get a 24 watt charger in the box, which honestly is still going to take a while to charge this device, but it’s good to see.
They’Ve stepped it up a little bit from the previous charges that they included with these doogee phones. Considering how large the battery capacities are for these devices and of course, you get the little lanyard, you get your usbc to usba charging cable, and this is your sim ejector tool for the doogee s86 and we got a quad camera setup on the back of this Doogee s86. Ai cameras now look here’s the deal. The cameras on this phone they’re. Never that great – but i will say doogee – has definitely improved the ultra wide capabilities of the phone. Previously there was some serious warping. You see happening with these images and the regular shots. Looked pretty decent as well. The front camera has since improved as well. So you know, doogee is not known, they’re rugged devices, especially for good quality cameras, but i think over time, they’ve just slowly started getting better as the sensors available to them have improved as well, and so, while still not great cameras, they’re definitely much more serviceable cameras That you get on this s86 than from previous doogie series phones and all in all guys, impressions of this phone it’s a solid entrant in the doogee offering of phones – and i do think if you liked the s68 pro from previous generations. You’Re. Definitely gon na, like this 2g s86 check the link in the description for more details about this device. Dj is also going to be doing, i think, a giveaway for this device, among others very soon, as well.
It’S all the most exciting rugged phone i’ve, seen from doogee, but it’s, still a solid offering here, the doogee s86 and thanks once again to doogie for sending this one out, but hit me up in the comments.
