Today we are going to talk about the samsung galaxy f62 it’s a pretty weird smartphone. They already had the m51 and it feels like they just upgraded the processor and relaunched it that’s. Why it’s a very weird placement in the smartphone market but there’s always a part brands, know the market better than us and they know what consumers want. That’S, why i took my time, tested out the galaxy f62 before jumping to any conclusions, and i think i figured it out so watch this video till the end to know whether or not the samsung galaxy f62 is worth it. This is my full review of the samsung galaxy f62 back. Relax have a cup of chai and have a nice time, like literally quite literally, have a nice time. Music, all right right off the bat let’s start with the design and build quality design of this phone is nothing great out there. I would not call it a great design it’s, just a normal design, it’s not very comfortable to hold in the hand it’s, not slim it’s, not lightweight and it’s, just a pretty normal design, it’s a boxy industrial and a very simple design. Now, as far as the build quality goes here’s, where i’m gon na say samsung did not do a good job. It comes with a plastic back panel which scratches very easily, like literally after i unbox the phone within five to ten minutes. It already had a lot of scratches, and that is an issue.
So if you are planning to buy this phone, please buy a case as well, as there is no case provided inside the box. Now one design choice that i appreciate is keeping the headphone jack. So samsung made room for the headphone jack and i highly appreciate it all in all in terms of design and build quality, i’m gon na say this is a pretty normal phone. Nothing extraordinary here, very normal next up, let’s talk about one of the strongest points of this phone, and that is the display. So this phone comes with a full hd plus amulet display and samsung is the best out there when it comes to displays. This phone is not an exception. To that point. The display on this phone is beautiful, really good, colors great contrast ratio. It gets bright enough to use in outdoor sunny conditions and it’s. Just a very immersive experience like when i started using this phone. I did not want to put it down because of that beautiful display, so samsung has done a very good job over here in terms of the display. Now, obviously it is only 60 hertz, so that is kind of a con at this price point, because almost every phone out there is coming with a higher refresh rate display. So i don’t know why this phone does not have a high refresh display and it should have had that like 90 hertz should have been there, but nevertheless, 60hz does not feel laggy at all on this phone.
Next up we have battery life and charging. This phone comes with a 7 000 milliamp hour battery. Yes, let me repeat that a 7 000 milliamp hour battery samsung went all in with the battery. They were like let’s just put the biggest battery out there because they know that the exynos 9825 is not optimized. That well now, when you see 7 000 milliamp hour on a spec sheet, your first instinct is going to be that this phone is going to have great battery life. Well, it does have very good battery life but i’m not going to call it great battery life. So the battery capacity is huge, but the battery life is just normal like. I would expect it to last for two and a half to three days but that’s, not the case. It will last you for one and a half days or two days, if you’re a light user, not more than that. Now that is still very good battery life i’m, not complaining about the battery life at all it’s. Just that with such a huge battery. I would expect samsung to optimize it more that’s it anyway in terms of charging. You are not getting fast charging over here. It will take almost two to two and a half hours to charge this phone up completely and it does heat up while charging. So that is an issue it does heat up, while charging and there’s no way around it again.
I think this has something to do with the processor. That is the exynos 9825. Now talking about the processor, this is the thing. Samsung focused a lot on like their whole. Marketing was around this processor because it is a flagship processor from two years ago, so the exynos 9825 is technically a flagship processor, but a couple of years ago, so it’s not a flagship in 2021. So please that is just a marketing hype and nothing else. Exynos 905 is a very normal processor by 2021 standards. So if you are planning to buy this phone for gaming, do not do that. There are way better options out there, like the poco x3 pro, which comes for 19 000 rupees with a snapdragon 860.. That is the phone which you should buy for gaming. Now with that being said, samsung galaxy f62 is excellent for normal tasks. So tasks like checking your email replying to whatsapp messages, editing photos in lightroom and snapseed uploading those photos to instagram or just watching random instagram reels for all these things, the 9825 is more than capable. It does not drop a sweat. This phone feels pretty snappy for normal day to day performance. I did not notice any hiccups at all and that gets a thumbs up from my side, all in all, in terms of performance, the f62 is great for normal usage, but not for gaming. I would not recommend it for gaming now. The next point that comes in is software.
Now here’s, where i was impressed, i thought i would not like one ui, but i do like it, and also samsung is promising regular software updates. So that is an added bonus. One ui is excellent and i can say that i, like it better than me, ui or real me ui. Yes, i can say that with confidence, samsung has come a long way with their software, so a job well done to the samsung team. Also, this phone comes with android 11 out of the box. If you were wondering about that, this gets me to the main thing that you guys were waiting for. Yes, i am talking about them cameras. So, on the red side, there is a quad camera setup, a 64 megapixel primary camera, a 12 megapixel ultrawide angle, camera a 5 megapixel macro camera and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. What about the actual photos? Well, i am impressed with the photos there’s a good amount of detail in them. The dynamic range is impressive and the colors are typical samsung like so. The colors are a little on the saturated side, not to the point where they are over saturated it’s. Just a little on the higher side, but that makes the photo look very pleasing to the eye. So the photos are pleasing to the eye and they are consistent as well like eight out of ten times it will shoot a good photo, and i would call that a consistent, reliable camera samsung has always been very good with their cameras, and the f62 is no Exception, you can trust this smartphone to shoot some really good photos.
Also samsung’s camera app has tons and tons of features, and you can take advantage of all those features. It’S not like samsung has cut down on features because of the lower price point. Nothing like that. Now, what about the front camera? So this phone comes with a 32 megapixel front camera, and the story is same here. It is capable of shooting some really good selfies and you are gon na like them. As i said, the photos are very pleasing to the eye and, if you upload them to social media, you are gon na get a lot of likes all in all. In terms of the cameras, i am not disappointed. Samsung has done a very good job over here. This gets me to other little things. First, up are the speakers. The speaker on this phone is okay, not the best out there, but not the worst either i would say it’s just pretty normal. The same goes for the haptic motor. The haptic motor could have been way better for the price point. The haptic motor is pretty average, pretty normal. In fact, i am disappointed with the haptic motor it’s, not the best out there. Also, this phone does not support 5g. Now i don’t think that 5g should be a factor right now, because it’s going to take a lot of time for 5g to come to people like us, especially in india. So i don’t think it’s a big factor. But if you want 5g in your phone, then don’t buy this one because it does not have 5g overall.
To sum it all up. The samsung galaxy f62 is a pretty good phone, but it’s placed very weirdly. They already had the m51, which is a very good phone with a snapdragon processor and they sold a bunch of those units like i would call the m51 a successful smartphone. So why the f62? The newly launched samsung galaxy a52, which is just a couple of thousand more than the f62, is an excellent smartphone and arguably better than f62 in some areas like not in all aspects, but in some aspects that’s. Why? I think that the f62 is weirdly placed samsung. Could have skipped it, but we all know samsung. They apply the brute force method over here in india that is launching as many smartphones as they can and it has worked for them and i’m pretty sure it will work for them now. Coming to the main question: should you buy the f62? Yes, why not it’s, not a bad phone by any means it is a good phone, but with that being said, if you are expecting, you will get great performance because of the 9825 that’s, not the case. You are going to get pretty normal performance, so please keep that in mind: do not fall for the marketing hype that it has a flagship level, processor, it’s, a flagship killer; nothing like that it’s, a pretty normal and well balanced phone. So anyway, this was my full review of the samsung galaxy s62.
