They started with the nook, color and nook tablet, which were very successful. They then moved on to the galaxy tab, 4 nook, which were absolutely terrible and it was a bomb. It was actually cheaper for you to buy the samsung devices themselves and then just load in the apk files. After the fact than it was for you to buy the galaxy tab for nook. They then went on to the hd and hd plus, which were actually pretty good. Those ones looked great. They had the little loop on the bottom corner, everything about it was pretty good and overall, it was a fair success. This now brings us to the fourth attempt at tablets by barnes, noble and the second co branded collaboration this time with lenovo. This is the lenovo tab: m10 hd it’s, pretty nice. It has a premium metal, design, powerful octa, core processor, dual speakers and an 8 megapixel rear camera. It is called iron gray and it looks fantastic it’s made out of complete block of aluminum. It has stereo speakers, one on each side, usbc and an sd card capable of 256 gigs it’s. Quite a premium feel overall head to toe the bezels are slim on the side, the top and bottom as well, and the top has just enough room for a front facing camera. However, neither the front or back cameras have a flash package, despite being one of the four things that they are mentioning on the box, because we are an e reader channel and we primarily look at barnes, noble from an e reading perspective that’s.
What we’re gon na focus on by default? This is what it looks like we didn’t change. Anything you have currently reading recent purchases and shop by category down there over here is where you are currently reading, all of your books and magazines, and you can toggle the little widget as you feel you do have some things at the bottom as well: library, bookstore And current read swiping up from the bottom, you do have some other things as well like highlights and notes, nook search profile and, specifically nook settings. You do have a separate section for nook settings and this is where you’ll manage your library. Your notifications, your download, your storage and your account. You can also download things directly to your sd card from here, but because this is a co branded release of a tablet, you do have the regular android settings up above as well. This is where you’ll find absolutely everything to do with your regular android experience outside of the barnes and noble experience. Now you don’t have to use this as a barnes, noble unit. You can buy this and it says nook on the back, but you can use it as a lenovo tablet through and through. In fact, it has 15 pre loaded, google apps in the device itself. Magazines, look absolutely fantastic, very vivid hd screen and they show page turn. Animations with the little page, curl barnes, noble, also has a wide selection of magazines available from their store reading is as good as you’d expect on an hd tablet: it’s very snappy it’s, very quick and there’s no lag, and this is because running a book.
Doesn’T exactly require a lot of processing speed. It is very black on white, though, so it can affect your eyes to some degree. You can turn on eye protection mode, in which case it cuts all the blue light and turns the screen. Super orange doesn’t look great on camera, though so we’ll turn that off. You do have a variety of function as well. Like long press share, highlight notes, annotations and lookup with an instant definition up top outside of nook services. You can use this as a regular tablet by side loading content in like this manga right here. You do have some open with options. We’Ll just choose drive as a default opener and it just starts running right away. The manga experience is fantastic on this. You do have a very slick pinch and zoom it’s very fluid, and the 10.1 inch screen gives it a lot of screen real estate. The pre loaded, nook application allows you to toggle between readouts, the bookstore and, of course, your library. The bookstore is where you’re going to find all of your purchase decisions. Of course this is where everything is going to be located and this time, unlike the nook tablet in the color and some other iterations, they don’t actually block you. So you can download these, regardless of where you live and consume the content. So if you click on something like this it’s going to give you a little bit of a synopsis and it will give you a price and then it will give you some reviews and customers also bought and other editorial reviews and everything under one roof.
So you just scroll up and down after you download something or purchase, something you go over to your library, and this will be everything you’ve ever purchased, and this is everything we’ve ever purchased since the barnes noble nook device, with the little screen at the bottom. From way back when, in fact, this daniel craig rolling stones edition was purchased almost 10 years ago, when we had the nook tablet and nook color, so it keeps all of your stuff under one roof at any point in time, you can click this book in the Middle of the bottom of the device, and that will take you back to the book you are currently reading or any content, be it a magazine, newspaper anything highlights and notes, is interesting, because it has nothing to do with just what you’ve made on this device. In fact, it takes in all of the highlights and notes you’ve ever made throughout your barnes noble account. You can see things here. We haven’t touched in a decade that still has highlights and notes for when we used to make videos on the nook, color and nook tablet, so that’s really cool that it’s account managed not per device. If you are asking us, can you buy this version and just uninstall all the barnes and noble stuff? You actually cannot. You can set the widgets or go to app info, in which case you can disable it, but you actually can’t uninstall it force closing it just stops it all together and open just opens it, but there is no uninstall.
You can uninstall the updates go back as far as you can, but it will always be there. The samsung, galaxy 4 nook was a little bit of a disaster. It was at a time when barnes noble wasn’t at their finest, but this lenovo collaboration is quite nice. It’S a very premium feel from head to toe the glass screen with the metal body is fantastic. The little pop out sd card that has almost like a sim card tray feel to it. The whole thing just feels put together and well presented. Also lenovo is a huge name when it comes to consumer electronics and tablets, so good choice on their part, it’s, really coming together with when barnes noble, is making a little bit of a comeback. They have some better e readers in their repertoire. This tablet is going to do something good for them, it’s all feeling very well timed. If you want to buy this, it is available on our store at goodyreader.com blog slash shop, and, if you have any other questions, comments, concerns leave them down below for goodiereader.com and a full review of the nook lenovo tab.
