This is the place where i help you with tech and lifestyle that you’re, probably thinking about, buying or need help with, and this in my hands. Finally, it’s here in this part of the world is the redmi note 10 pro it’s a brand new android smartphone, but it does such a good job i’ve been using it for a couple of weeks at balancing the specs, the value proposition with the asking price. Let me take you for a closer look at this thing check this out. I mean you have to admit it is a very good looking smartphone for a budget smartphone, you wouldn’t ever guess that that was the case, because it looks and feels incredibly premium all throughout. I think xiaomi have done a very, very good job with this design, and this gradient bronze color certainly looks stunning in different lighting now down there at the bottom, you’ll notice that you’ve got the speakers, the usb c port, the microphone on the right hand, side you’ve, Got this button, which is the power on off button, but it also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner and then the volume rocker, just above that the left hand side, has a sim tray and then check this out at the top. You’Ve got in 2021 a three and a half millimeter headphone jack, which i know will make some of you incredibly happy. You’Ve got the speakers and also an ir blaster as well at the top now on.
The back. You’Ll also notice that camera module more on that in a moment in this video, but it does look incredibly sophisticated, so i’ll talk about that in a second now something else that came as a bit of a surprise to me was the speaker. Quality on this you’ve got speakers down here at the bottom, but also at the top, take a listen to the sound quality Applause now on the front, you’ll notice that beautiful 6.67 inch display it is a vibrant and punchy display. It does have support for a higher refresh rate 120 hertz, so that means swiping through playing games. Uh viewing media is all going to be quite smooth and fluid with that display. So performance wise. This is powered by the snapdragon 732g chipset. It is a decent chipset and that’s paired up with either a six or eight gigabyte ram variation. So, on this that i’ve been using, i have 6gb of ram with 120 gigabytes of storage, which is you know, fine perfectly fine for day to day use multitasking. Even the gaming, as well now talking of gaming experience, what i found was the 732g is slightly optimized for gaming and you’ll notice. When it comes to gaming, you have a decent experience on this device. Popular games like fortnite, certainly weren’t able to push up the fps to the 460 frames, but there were other games like asphalt 9, where that was much more optimized and i was getting a better gaming experience.
The other thing is with prolonged gaming. You will see the back of the smartphone heat up slightly, but again, nothing that discourages you from gaming on this device, so right out of the box. This is running android 11 with me, ui, miui 12. To be specific, this is essentially a skin on top of android and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Some people, like it some people, don’t uh. I don’t mind it so much and i particularly think that if you want customization, then that is uh certainly an option here: uh with me: ui 12. right guys, let’s take a moment to talk about the battery life, because i’ve been incredibly impressed. This sports a 5020 milliamp hour battery and you’d, never guess that, if you’re looking at this, not only is it light, but also it’s thin. So the fact that you have that larger battery in there is actually a real good bonus. What is also interesting is on the software front. What xiao may have done is even if you’re, using in my experience, 60 hertz or 120 hertz, there isn’t a major uh negative effect on the battery life, so you will notice that it’s better to stick with 60 hertz. If battery life is crucial for you, but even at 120 hertz, i still found the battery life to be very, very good, and you know bear in mind social media multimedia. You know i’ve been using this thing quite heavy.
What is also interesting is in the box. You’Re going to get a 33 watt uh fast charger, so that’s going to be zero to about 50 to 55 in 30 minutes, which is again pretty good, but there is no wireless charging or reverse wireless charging. With this now, let’s take a moment to talk about the camera on the back, so this comprises of a quad camera, which is made up of 108 megapixel, f 1.9 paired up with an 8 megapixel f 2.2 for the ultra wide 5 megapixel f 2.4. For the macro and then a 2 megapixel f 2.4 for the depth on the front, you get a 16 megapixel selfie shooter, with an aperture of f 2.5 camera performance. On the redmi note, 10 pro is again pretty solid at this price point, the main camera outputs 12 megapixel photos by default, but there is the option to take images with the 108 megapixel sensor, with lots of details now with the main camera there’s. Also good details with low noise and it’s close to natural colors, the dynamic range is decent too. I did notice a difference, however, between the ultrawide and the main camera, with the ultra wide being a little softer with images now going up to 2x. The camera still takes decent shots. This has zoom up to 10x, but it’s done digitally so there’s noticeable noise and distortion. Here, i noticed really anything after about 5x becomes hard to use, but this is there if you need it now.
The telemacho camera on this is interesting and i’ve tested telemacro lenses on a few recent smartphones, and this really does a better job, particularly with the af feature in this there’s sufficient details, the accuracy of colors, as you can see from some of these examples, and then Portrait shots are good too, with the subject and background being reasonably separated in shots now in low light images with night mode, you’ll see that there are highlights that are more detailed and it does reduce the noise when you compare it with non night mode shots. So something to test out on the front: you’ve got a 16 megapixel f, 2.5 selfie camera that takes some decent selfies. You can bump up the vibrancy and colors in post editing directly on the phone. So this is a quick test of video. On the redmi note, 10, pro 4k 30 frames per second, unfortunately, it doesn’t film in 60 frames per second. The other thing is by default. Steady video is turned off. Let me show you what that looks like with steady video turned on, so this is with steady, video turned on and you’ll notice that there should be an improvement now, particularly as i walk around and pan around as well. Let me know in the comment section down below what you think of the video, but also the audio quality in low light, video you’ll notice, the ultrawide struggles to light up enough and show the details that you would expect.
The main camera does a much better job, with both noise reduction and details. So, in conclusion, the redmi note 10 pro is what redmi does very well packing those incredible specs at very, very competitive pricing, and, as i mentioned at the beginning, if you’re looking for a budget android smartphone, i cannot recommend the redmi note 10 pro enough, because i Think if you’re not looking for 5g you’re, not too bothered about the display not being amoled, you know wireless charging isn’t an issue for you. You’D still be happy with what the redmi note 10 pro has to offer. Let me know your thoughts in the comments down below and i’ll.
