What if i tell you, there is a phone that can challenge the iphone 12 pro max for being the best phone for video recording. This is the vivo x60 pro. There are two major advantages in its camera setup. The first one is vivo. Actually, co engineered with size to manufacture the camera lenses for this particular model, it’s, not like any other phone with a size label or branding they actually designed the lenses with size. Here we can actually see various tesla lens they’ve also implemented some advanced technology, which we rarely see on any other smartphones, for instance, gimbal stabilization 2.0, more on that in a bit but other than just the camera setup. Vivo actually impressed me by their build quality as well. So honestly, i’ve been using this vivo x60 pro for quite a while, but my daily drivers still the iphone 12 pro max and the s21 ultra by samsung. Due to basically all my finance apps are on the iphone, and i just can’t forget the quad camera setup of the s21 ultra as well. But this particular one here basically feels exactly the same in terms of the build quality with a design which is refreshingly slick and smooth. With this 7.59 millimeters of thinness and 177 grams of lightness combines with the ag glass with satin finish on the back and the overall curvature of both the front and the back glass. The phone is honestly almost too thin and light to hold.
I do mean it. You might need a case to add some grip to the phone. The design and the build quality they’ve definitely nailed it. It does feel like a genuine flagship phone. It does comes with an in screen fingerprint sensor for fast and secure unlocks. Oh, there are some downsides which are worth mentioning, however, that it actually lacks any sort of ip certified water industry systems, and it also lacks wireless charging, micro, sd card support and dual speakers ouch anyway. The screen is also really beautiful, it’s, basically, a 6.56 inches 1080p amoled display with 120hz screen refresh rate, as well as hdr 10 plus support the most amazing thing which impressed me, however, is actually the screen to body ratio that’s, definitely more than 90 percent, plus the 3D curve on both the sides and the super thin bezels on all the sides. I do feel like i’m holding just the screen with this old screen, almost no bezel design color reproduction of this display is also great. Colors are vivid and engaging, but not completely accurate. There are a few modes here in the settings. Menu standard mode is basically based on dci, p3 color gamut, but the calibration here is not perfect. With a delta e reported to be larger than three, i can definitely notice. There are some oversaturated look to the display, while professional mode is a pretty accurate, srgb profile, while bright is basically an extended dci, p3 color gamut with even more saturated colors, and so none of the modes deliver perfect color accuracy.
But to my eyes, or probably your eyes as well, the screen looks beautiful with intriguing colors and which is engaging the bottom single firing speaker and no 3.5 millimeters headphone jack is definitely a thumbs down by the way we can just check it out right now. The sound is on the thinner and lighter softer side – Applause, Music it’s, basically the largest highest falling anyway, with a beautiful screen that you might get addicted to a smooth and responsive ui will also be crucial for the overall user experience. This particular x60 pro is the international version being sold in hong kong and around the world as well. They do have a different model with different specifications for the one being sold in china, but anyway the one you all will be getting here – packs the snapdragon 870 processor, which is a further overclocked snapdragon 865, plus with a roughly 10 boost in its cpu and gpu Performance, it uses the last gen 7 nanometer manufacturing process. However it’s, arguably more mature due to it, is reported that the latest snapdragon triple eight actually generates more heat than most systems designed to handle. Now here, we’ve run geekbench five five times consecutively. Now the x60 pro actually outperformed the poco f3, which uses the same snapdragon 870. The scores here are actually closer to phones with the snapdragon triple eight, with less heat produced under heavy loading over a relatively long period of time, so the x60 pro basically was able to squeeze the maximum processing power of the snapdragon 870.
Throughout the test, there was almost no thermal throttling observed, which made it performed even better than most other snapdragon triple eight phones. In the last run, similar results was created by running 3dmark slingshot extreme for five times, with noticeably better thermals than phones comes with snapdragon 888. Despite it’s, actually based on the snapdragon 870, but fivo did a really great job in squeezing the last bit of juice out of a snapdragon 870 anyway, now’s the time to test how the camera set up. The two major strong points here for this camera setup is, of course, the collaboration with zeiss, as well as the gimbal stabilization technology, so zeiss, the x60 pro here surprisingly implemented a technology called pixel shift. If you’re into high end dslr or mirrorless cameras, you might have heard of this term, it basically alleviates color, fringing and chromatic effect once and for all. As a result, the photos come out of this phone will be much sharper. Now this is more about optics than just the megapixels count. What also amazed me is it actually shoots at f, 1.4 rate, which is, if i’m, not wrong the largest aperture on any smartphone. There is also a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 13 megapixels. Two times optical zoom lens as well. The image signal processing on this phone here is also credible, that it contributes to the natural looking details. All the edges on each of the leaves are perfectly sharp, but not over sharpened.
It looks like the photos are optically sharp, but not digitally sharp. If you know what i mean dynamic range here is also perfect. You can basically expect top of the line image signal processing on this phone color reproduction, however, tends to be on the oversaturated side. It sort of gives the photos a unique look believe it or not. It turns harsh lighting into perfect lighting, no matter if it’s well, lit or backlit. It delivers photos with perfect exposure and saturated colors with a filter of his song Music. Now, if i change everything the way, i walk the way i breathe Music, but here i am Music. If i saw Music, nothing ever tries to change Music won’t be a simple boy: Music. Now the gimbal stabilization technology. Here this is the second generation and i’ve tested the first one as well it’s, basically like a micro, gimbal packed inside the phone, the new one, enhanced five axis technology. It uses results in three times more stable stabler video recording experience compared to phones with traditional optical image. Stabilization. Not only does it realizes x and y axis rotation and transition, but also that axis rotation as well anything less than 3 degrees. The visual output will be just silky, smooth Music, i Music, Music, think Music. So before we’re wrapping up today’s review, it packs a 4200 million power battery with 33 watts fast charging, which is not the fastest, not the largest battery as well, but according to our battery life test.
After an hour of youtube, video playback one hour of facebook browsing and one hour of league of legends wild rift gameplay, the graph here compares the battery life of the x60 pro to other phones. All in all, the vivo x60 pro is definitely a joy to look at and hold in my hands. It definitely looks and feels like a flagship smartphone. The cpu and gpu performance is among the best as well thanks to they’ve squeezed the last bit of juice. Out of the processor and made it last even under heavy loading, alongside with the 120hz display, this phone’s buttery, smooth and snappy, to use – oh, not to mention this camera setup, which is co engineered with zeiss. It basically takes photos with a filter of its own. The gimbal stabilization 2.0 technology is also worth trying that it totally takes mobile videography onto another level, it’s, not like adobe vision on the iphone 12 pro max, which definitely takes physiography onto another level on the smartphone as well. In terms of the dynamic range and hdr content creation, but this one in particular is perfect for vloggers or maybe travelers as well, that it shoots just stable and usable videos in almost all scenarios. The major compromises here, however, are the single down firing. Bottom firing speaker the lack of wireless charging, the lack of headphone jack and ip rating water industry systems, and maybe the price as well. But this totally depends on where you’re living and how you get this phone.
But, generally speaking, is not targeted to be a flagship killer, but a flagship phone itself. So with a similar amount of money, you might consider purchasing the samsung galaxy s21 as well anyway. This is the end of my video today.
