This is a long term review. Now i started off with the blue one. I bought the blue one and it first came out. I used that for a while, i upgraded to the 12 pro max and now i’m back with the iphone 12, and i was looking at the calendar and realized holy cow. This phone has been out over six months now. It was announced in october middle of october early october, and then it went on sale about the 23rd so that we could go and buy them. Of course, the mini came out in november, but really interesting because they did some things different. With this phone went back to the flat sides, kind of gave it that more thinner appearance. It looks a lot like the iphone 5, 5s and otherwise it’s pretty much the same, but it does have a 6.1 inch screen on it. It’S got the a14 chip in it. It’S got a lot of really good things going for it and we’ll see how well you know it’s held up over six months, and i want to talk about that. But before we get into that, i do want to say if this is your first time stopping by the channel. Thank you for being here. If you watch the videos all the time, you’re awesome. Thank you for watching as well. I really appreciate the support and, if you enjoy the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and little notification bell.
If you want updates when new videos come out, let’s take a look at the iphone 12. six months later Music. So here we have the iphone 12.. Not a lot has changed since it’s come out couple different version updates when it comes to the software, but otherwise performance is still largely still the same all day, battery full hd plus resolution. You got the beautiful screen, stereo speakers a14 bionic, four gigs of ram, not that it really matters that much when it comes to iphone, because the i os is built from the ground up the software to match with the hardware. It really exploits it well, and it works well together and that’s one of the great things you get and have always got when it comes to apple versus android, with apple you kind of get that customized tailored experience where apple builds, everything for the ground up to Support each other, whereas with android it’s like here, everybody’s, going to use these different processors, these different platforms, these different hardware, configurations and they’re all going to kind of run the same thing but it’s, not really fine tuned. So that’s one of the downsides that’s one of the reasons why android never has run as efficiently or as well or as consistently as you get with ios, but that’s, just kind of a education point. There, camera setup i mean just like tim cook, says it’s. The best cameras we’ve ever put on an iphone it’s got the two 12 megapixels on the back.
It doesn’t have the third one like the pro. I don’t really feel like you’re missing out all that much especially for the price difference. So with this one, you get the wide lens or the ultra wide 12 megapixel. On the back 12 megapixel primary. You get a 12 megapixel selfie camera on the front. You can shoot 4k at 60 frames per second on the front and the back and that’s one of the biggest things that this phone is brought to the table. It’S worked really well, i shot the video with my iphone 12 and iphone 12 pro max almost exclusively for nearly a year on my channel. So if you want to know what you can get to start your own channel and you don’t want to get all this crazy camera equipment stuff, you can shoot with an iphone and do pretty much everything you need to. So it works really well. I can testify directly that the cameras on this phone very good – it still has issues with the hdr and sometimes making you look a little yellow and orangey, and it really has a hard time with light in certain situations but that’s all the iphones that’s the 12. The 12 pro maxi 11 it’s just something that they haven’t been able to tackle yet, and i don’t know why. But as far as using the phone, if you’ve been using an iphone for years, it’s, basically the same experience. I just got the app drawer in here now: you’ve got some widgets it’s still using the big notch for face id, which you can see up here on the top it’s, not changed, it’s, not really diminished or gotten any smaller we’re on, like the third generation of This now it’s, really getting kind of old.
In my opinion, i’d like to have my screen real estate back, i do like how secure it is though face id is super secure. It works really well unless you’re in, like a pandemic environment where everybody’s wearing masks, and then you can’t scan your face because it’s super accurate so and super secure, so there they have made a workaround. If you have an apple watch, then you can use that to unlock your phone now, which i think is pretty cool, but i don’t think that that isn’t a fair solution. I really wish that it would like recognize your face with the mask on. I wish they were. They would at least make an option for that, so i don’t ding them a whole lot for that, it’s, really just a convenience factor, or i wish that there were a way that it would recognize that they can’t see your face faster and switch over to the Pen, instead of taking as long but either way the phone is very secure. It works very well it’s, very smooth you still can’t move apps around without having to shift all of them, which i really wish one day like. I would. I would really be a lot more excited about this phone if i could do things like close all my apps at once, instead of one at a time or if i could move my icons around where i want them without having to shuffle all of my icons.
So there are some basic things. I really wish that they would kind of tackle, but they have not notifications. Those have improved over time. You can clear them a little bit more easily, now it’s, still not as nice or as convenient as android, but if you’ve been using apple for a long time, you probably don’t care or don’t even notice, and a lot of the things that i get frustrated about. On here you may not even know if you’ve always been using an iphone or if you’ve used one for years. You may not know that android is more customizable and you can do more with it. You know at fixed value to make it more of a tailored experience for how you want it, so ios very controlled, very secure, very smooth, very reliable and that’s the great things that you get with the phone and it’s no different with the iphone 12.. Now i do enjoy this phone just as much as i enjoy any other iphone. I like the weight, it’s very, very light, it’s very sleek, and i like they added this purple color, i kind of like that. They skipped on the dedicated product, red launch and it’s nice. You can get the red version straight out of the gate when it came out, so i didn’t even think that they were gon na make another color, but out of left field, they come out with this purple one purple’s, my favorite color.
I saw it. I thought hey i’m gon na ditch my 12 pro max. I don’t really need it that much anymore. I started shooting video with regular cameras and thought hey. Let me go ahead and pick this up and it looks really nice with the apple silicone case, so it pairs very nicely and you get the two tone. Color effect here, going on it’s, very durable ip68 dust and water resistance. It’S got wireless charging it’s got wired charging. You do have some issues with wireless charging. If you use these magsafe, like apple official cases, if it’s not a really good wireless charger, if it’s one of the weaker ones – and it doesn’t have a good signal, it won’t penetrate all the way through so i’ve noticed that, with some wireless chargers, i’ve tried it On but a lot of the especially the fast wireless chargers, they tend to work. No headphone jack that’s been gone for a long time, but you can still, you know, use your lightning adapter and you can plug in earbuds that way, and then it has bluetooth which works exceptionally well and it has the aac codec, which i think is good. It sounds good, especially if you like to use air pods, you get the air pods airpods pro air pods max, whichever suits your fancy and you can pair them and it works great. You got the air tags down, which is nice, you’ve got all the apple services and that’s, probably one of the biggest selling points you get imessage.
Everybody loves their blue and green bubbles, it’s very frustrating for people. Sometimes, if they’re communicating with somebody who has android and you can’t do the group text, you can’t, do the imessage stuff. You send pictures from another phone to this one and it’s, not on imessage. It looks all grainy and yes that’s a problem. The rest of the world, i think, is kind of on the same page now, but it really is something that draws people into iphone and into the apple ecosphere and it’s great, because you can get on your mac computer and you can use imessage. You get on your watch, you get on your phone, your tablet, all that good stuff, so the ability for it to all sync together and to work seamlessly is something that’s still way way, light years ahead of what you get with an android product, even with samsung. What they’re trying to do with one ui? Overall, i enjoy this phone i’m, more of an android guy, of course, and this is not my bread and butter when it comes to iphones, but i appreciate them for what they are. I typically carry one as a secondary phone with a sim card in it because i like to have both i like to see what’s new with iphone, i like to see what’s new with the android world, and this is probably my most favorite iphone to date. I like it, i wish that they would have put the fingerprint sensor in here, like they did with the new ipad air, where they built it into the power button.
I thought for sure we were going to get that. That would have been huge for 2020, especially when it came around to the pandemic and everything going on 2021.. I wish that were something that we got. Unfortunately, it’s not, and one of the reasons why i tend to use my android phone is because i can use my fingerprint sensor and don’t have to worry about going like this and then not working with the face mask, but as far as the durability, the construction, The performance, everything about it, it’s a really good phone. I don’t really have anything negative to say about it other than just personal preference stuff, and some people get hung up on that i hate iphone. I hate android it’s, whatever folks, if you like these, go for it. If you, if iphone, is your thing enjoy it if android’s your thing enjoy it, i like to use and appreciate both they’re a little bit different and they bring different things to the table, but they still kind of do a lot of the same stuff. Fundamentally so it’s good on battery life it’ll get you through the day i mean i usually average over six hours of screen on time. It doesn’t have a high speed, refresh rate i’m, hoping they get there with the iphone 13, where we’ll have either a 90 or 120 hertz. I think we’re gon na get 120 hertz. That would be really nice. I really enjoy that in the android world, but they got to find a way to make it work because it really drains the battery but battery life.
Otherwise, i think, is good, especially for the size it’s under a 3000mah battery, which is just crazy to me that the way they can squeeze juice out of these things, they do a good job, a much better job than android, but beautiful screen. Good cameras, great video quality stuff, the ability to use airdrop and send stuff straight over to your mac. Products is great too, and if this is something you’re in the market, for, i think you’ll really enjoy it. And if you like, apple products and you’re, using like an iphone 6 iphone 7 iphone 8 it’s going to be a tremendous upgrade it’s going to be something that you really enjoy and really and truly, i think, it’s the best iphone for most people. You don’t need to swing up and spend more money and get the pro model. This does so much of the same stuff. Yeah you get a couple extra niceties with the pro you get the 128 baseline storage instead of the baseline 64. With this you get the third camera you get, some other little features very few, but otherwise i think this is probably the most compelling iphone yet to just for most people stick with the regular iphone don’t waste, the money on the pro, and you can really really Enjoy it it’s a really good phone, and i like it a lot but that’s all i’ve got held up well, six months later, still a solid dies still, probably i think the best iphone out there for most people and you can start to get some deals on This stuff, the price really doesn’t drop 7.
99 to get your foot in the door most places 829, though 64 gigs of storage, you really probably ought to spend up and get the 128 so that’s going to cost you a little extra money, which is what i paid For in mine and then of course, you can pay extra for additional icloud storage, which is nice as well, but apple’s done a great job. They continue to do a good job, no real complaints, there other than it’s just apple it’s, not my favorite, but they do a good job. So that’s all i’ve got in this video.
