Tecno Pova 6 Neo Review – 2 day battery life?

Design and Build

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo has a unique design that gives off a gaming phone vibe similar to the Rog phone. The glossy finish, although nice, tends to attract fingerprints and smudges, requiring frequent cleaning. Despite being tall and thick, the phone is surprisingly not too heavy, making it comfortable to hold. The power and volume buttons are located on the right side, with the power button also serving as a fingerprint sensor. The Sim and SD card tray can be found on the left side, allowing for two Sims and an SD card.

Battery Life

The standout feature of the Tecno Pova 6 Neo is its massive 7000mAh battery, which promises up to 2 days of usage on a single charge. In real-world usage, the phone lives up to this claim, easily lasting through a full day of heavy usage without needing a recharge. This makes it an excellent choice for users who are always on the go and don’t want to worry about running out of battery.

Display and Audio

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo features a large display that is great for watching videos and playing games. The colors are vibrant, and the viewing angles are good, making for an enjoyable viewing experience. The phone comes with dual speakers that provide decent sound quality, although the bottom speaker is slightly louder than the one at the top. The headphone jack is also a welcome addition for those who prefer wired audio.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Tecno Pova 6 Neo is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, which delivers smooth performance for everyday tasks and gaming. The phone runs on Android 11 with Tecno’s custom skin on top, which offers some additional features and customization options. Multitasking is a breeze, thanks to the 4GB of RAM, and storage is expandable via the SD card slot.

Dolby Atmos Speakers and IP53 Rating

Apparently, these speakers are the first speakers on a technophone to be equipped with Dolby Atmos, but as far as how they sound, they’re fine. The P 6 Neo also has an IP 53 rating, so it’s water and splash resistant.

Display Quality

You should never put your phone in water, though for its 6.78-inch 120 Hz LCD display with 1080p resolution. This is fine, of course, if it was AMOLED, not LCD. That would have made this display perfect, but I think only the Galaxy a15, 4G and 5G come with an AMOLED display, but their refresh rates are much lower at 60 Hz and I think 90 Hz. So I think Tecno had to choose between 120 Hz and AMOLED. They chose 120 Hz but yeah that’s on paper.

Camera Performance

While I was outside, I also tested the cameras. There are two of them: a 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. These are some of the shots I took so do. Let me know what you think of them, but for me, I personally feel that they’re kind of soft color looks good.

Battery Life and Performance

I’ve used this Smartphone to watch movies and YouTube videos, and I can tell you right away that it looks fine. It’s sharp and has good colors too nothing to complain about. When you take the smartphone outdoors, though, you’ll struggle to use it under direct sunlight; it maxes out at 500 nits of brightness. So I guess you could complain about that.

Camera Quality

Hdr also looks good, but I think it lacks a bit of detail, especially with the selfie camera Ill, probably rate these photos a C for video, its kind of the same story. It has good colors has pretty good stabilization, but isnt too detailed, but yeah like, I would always say, try to give the camera as much light as possible and you can get pretty decent results. Do let me know what you think of the video quality down in the comments, so you clearly wouldn’t be buying the 6 Neo for its cameras.

Performance

You could be buying it for its performance. The PO 6 Neo uses The Helio g99 ultimate processor and in this budget smartphone category thats like the best you can get. It would easily handle any basic smartphone tasks. You throw at it and then for Ram and storage. You get eight and 256 gigs respectively and yes, Ram can be extended to 16 with virtual Ram.

Battery Life

Although I said performance could be a reason you buy the smartphone personally, I feel the main reason to buy the smartphone would be its battery life. Like I said in the intro of this video, this comes with a massive 7000 milliamp battery, so for us average users. This could last for 2 days, even more. I watched Netflix for about 2 and 12 hours and I lost about 15 of the battery.

Battery Life:

So when we do the math that’s about 14ish hours of battery life, if you’re just streaming videos. If you’re gaming, it’s a little lower at around 10 hours. Tecno is saying, if you’re just calling, just making phone calls, it could last for 39 hours. So insanely good battery life, there’s really nothing to complain about. What I’m seeing people complain about, though, is with charging.

Charging Speed:

The 6 Neo supports up to 33W of wired fast charging. 33W isn’t insanely fast. I think it takes about 2 hours to fill up this phone, so I guess I get why people are complaining. But considering this phone lasts the entire day, you’re only going to be charging at night when you’re going to bed. So does it really matter because in the end you’re just going to wake up the next morning and see that it’s full. You wouldn’t know how long it took to charge, but then again it doesn’t hurt to get faster charging. So Tecno, if you’re listening, maybe give us faster charging.

Battery Protection Features:

The 6 Neo also comes with some battery protection features to help maintain battery health after you’ve charged and discharged for months and even years later.

Software Features:

Lastly, this phone comes with iOS 14 on top of Android 14. I’ve noticed that some app icons have been redesigned slightly. There are also new wallpapers. I love new wallpapers. We also have lock screen customization and a little bit of material.

The Design

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo comes with a unique design that some may find polarizing. It has a sleek and modern look, with a large display that offers a great viewing experience for videos and games. The back panel has a matte finish that helps with grip and reduces fingerprints, which is a nice touch.

Display and Performance

The smartphone features a good quality display that is bright and vibrant, making it perfect for streaming content or browsing the web. The performance is smooth and responsive, thanks to the MediaTek Helio G85 processor and 4GB of RAM. You can multitask with ease and switch between apps quickly without any lag.

Camera Quality

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo has average cameras that capture decent photos in good lighting conditions. The 13MP main camera and 2MP depth sensor do a decent job of capturing details and colors, but may struggle in low light situations. The 8MP front camera is sufficient for video calls and selfies, but don’t expect professional-quality shots from this smartphone.

Battery Life

The standout feature of the Tecno Pova 6 Neo is its impressive battery life. With a massive 6000mAh battery, this smartphone can easily last for two days on a single charge with moderate usage. This is perfect for users who are always on the go and need a device that can keep up with their busy lifestyle.

Pricing and Conclusion

The Tecno Pova 6 Neo is currently priced at 237000, making it a great budget smartphone option for those looking for a device with exceptional battery life. While it may not have top-of-the-line cameras, it makes up for it with its solid performance and stunning display. If you prioritize battery life above all else, the Tecno Pova 6 Neo is definitely worth considering for your next smartphone purchase.
